Paint The Town Green is run by experienced
London-based painter and decorator Phil Robinson.
Phil has spent the last 12 years working on projects
of all shapes and sizes in and around London, for
both private and corporate clients.
In the early days Phil spent some time working for
Sarah Beeny. Now he and his team frequently work
with some of London’s finest interior designers.
Until recently Phil thought there wasn’t anything
new to learn about decorating. Then he discovered
the potential impact the paint he was using had on
him and his team, his clients, their families and
the environment.
The more he looked into it, the more he realised that conventional paints released toxic fumes into people’s houses. He discovered that many of these fumes have been proven to be carcinogenic, cause breathing difficulties and provoke allergic reactions. Not to mention the huge amount of waste caused when non-environmentally- friendly paints are produced.
That’s why he set up Paint The Town Green.
Phil spent several months researching the environmentally-friendly paint market – discovering
which paint really is eco-friendly and which just has it written on the tin.
Was there an environmentally-friendly paint out
there with the versatility to provide a colour range
that could compete with the mainstream brands
available, whilst at the same time caring for our
planet and our health?
His search led him to Iceland, where Paint The Town Green's paint is now made. The factory manufactures under licence from Beckers, a Swedish company which has been awarded the EU Flower and the Nordic swan eco-label for their eco-friendly manufacturing techniques. Essentially the Flower is the gold standard for 'green' paint - in a similar way to the Soil Association certification for organic food.
Having found this manufacturer for his paint, Phil is confident that Paint The Town Green can provide a top quality, uncompromising, competitively-priced eco decorating service, protecting your health and our environment at the same time.
Paint The Town Green is also committed to recycling materials wherever possible - the vans it uses are almost entirely recyclable and the colour charts are printed on recycled paper.
And rather than use wasteful colour test pots, it sends out postcards, hand painted with the colour of the customer's choice to stick onto walls.
