Emma Green designs Steam Punk at the Saatchi Gallery for charity

Battersea based interior designer, Emma Green of Emma Green Design, was recently approached to design an entire gallery at the Saatchi Gallery for a fundraising evening last month.

Emma was tasked with creating a chill out room for the Global Fund for Children charity event. The theme was Steak Punk to mark the rapid development of technology, industry and the treatment of children in London in the Victorian times, all themes that still resonate today and which, as it did back then, still evoke both wonder and fear.

We were delighted to be asked by Emma to help bring her display together. She chose colour Fisherman's Blues, as shown below, for the especially constructed boudoir panel screen. Which Paint the Town Green painted for her of course. Phil himself in fact!

Emma collaborated with several UK companies and artisans to bring her design to life which included a specially designed steampunk unicorn head, birdcage floor lamp, sumptuous velvet fringed seating, a union jack chesterfield sofa, a bicycle wheel musician’s stool and skull floral display.

The event raised a fantastic total of £235,600! Nicky Wynne, Managing Director of the Global Fund for Children said:

“Emma your wonderful ‘live’ interior design made the Chill-Out room POP last week. Our heartfelt thanks for such a stunning display”.

We'd like to say congratulations Emma for doing such a good job with her interpretation of Steam Punk and for such great charity work. Pleasure working with you, as always.
